Multiscale Modeling Abaqus. The goal of multiscale material modeling is to predict material behaviors at the macro-level using information at smaller scales. During my researches I became familiar with the mathematical and mechanical basis of the multiscale modeling.

We present a semi-concurrent multiscale method to couple the commercial finite element package ABAQUS to the open source software LAMMPS. Author links open overlay panel Andy MacKrell.. They are simple to use, as the Abaqus user interface allows for easy production workflow development, and the native implementation in Abaqus enables an optimized performance.

The semi-concurrent multiscale method here is based on the Cauchy-Born rule to compute stress/stiffness in continuum domain.

Author links open overlay panel Andy MacKrell.. The information can be communicated between scales from the bottom up; the microstructure of the composite material is represented by a Representative Volume Element (RVE), then a homogenization scheme is applied to the RVE, which provides a prediction of macro.
